Project
Rebranding, web design, social media strategy, and ongoing support
The Challenge
Mansfield Woodhouse Heritage Link is a volunteer-led charity preserving the history of the local community. The team lacked technical skills and their outdated website was no longer fit for purpose. They wanted a modern digital presence to showcase their archive, build community engagement through social media, and take ownership of their digital assets.

The Approach
The project began with developing and implementing a simple but effective social media strategy. Early success on social platforms led to a wider brief, including a full rebrand and new website. I:
Created a fresh brand identity, including a new colour scheme, logo, and Google-based typeface
Designed and developed a user-friendly, modern website with an integrated blog for digitising the archive
Supported the charity in reclaiming their domain and hosting to reduce their ongoing costs
Coordinated with an IT specialist to migrate their valuable image archive to a secure cloud system for easier access and long-term preservation
All designs and strategies were created with the charity’s capacity in mind, ensuring the team could manage their new digital tools with minimal technical knowledge.

The Results
The new digital presence has revitalised the charity’s outreach. Social media posts now consistently achieve high community engagement — moving from just one or two likes to vibrant conversations sparked by nostalgic storytelling and shared memories.
The team now has full ownership over their website, domain, and hosting — freeing up valuable funds and creating a sustainable digital future.
Personal Reflection
This is a deeply rewarding pro bono project that I continue to support today. Helping Mansfield Woodhouse Heritage Link preserve and share the stories of our community feels like a way to give something lasting back. It’s been a joy to bring their history into the digital age.
